Should there be smoking in enclosed public spaces? Not at all because it does cause harm to non smokers. Should smoking be banned outright? No way, because that is a very slippery slope that WILL lead to more rights and freedoms taken away.
Like it or not, smokers have every right to smoke, just as non smokers have the right to a safe and clean indoor environment.
Smokers aren’t demons people. They have an addiction that is hard to break, perhaps try giving support instead of hate.
This argument is getting mundane.
Fact is, it’s a legal activity, the government supports it, and it’s protected under the constitution of most democratic countries.
The average cost of a carton is $53.01 (In Canada). Of that $42.89 is taxes to the government… So smokers are paying extra for their habit. That extra tax goes to health care, social support etc. By the time they need treatment for cancer (if they ever do), it will have been paid for by the smoker.

Let’s say you smoke, the smoke of your sigarette gets into my lungs, my clothes, etc… And let’s say I drink a pint, the result of that is that I’ve got to pee. @resonance88 The reason why second hand smoke is banned in close quarters areas such as cafes is because of the danger is presents in the form of second hand smoke to the people exposed. In a wide open area, such as the outside world, or a big factory, the danger presented by second hand smoke and exhaust is next to zero. Hence why it is legal to drive and smoke outside. Not sure what you’re talking about hamburgers for.
